"Ring a Nupe" Program

The Glendale-Peoria (AZ) Alumni Chapter is committed to reconnecting with inactive brothers through our "Ring a Nupe" reclamation program. We believe that once a Kappa, always a Kappa, and we work diligently to bring brothers back into active participation.

Our Approach to Reclamation

Reclamation is more than just reinstating inactive brothers—it is a renewal of commitment, fellowship, and shared purpose. Our chapter has successfully reclaimed 11 brothers since our founding, and we continue to reach out to Kappa men throughout the West Valley.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Membership Questions

When and where does the chapter meet?

The Glendale-Peoria (AZ) Alumni Chapter meets on the fourth Friday of each month. Meetings are currently held at:

St. John Paul II Catholic High School
3120 N 137th Ave
Avondale, AZ 85392

If the venue changes, the Keeper of Records will notify members in advance.

When and where does the chapter board meeting occur?

The Glendale-Peoria (AZ) Alumni Chapter Board Meeting is held on the Monday of the same week as the monthly Chapter Meeting. Board meetings take place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM MST and are typically conducted virtually via Zoom. Meeting details are distributed by the Keeper of Records via email. For questions, contact kor@gpac-nupes.com.

Why are the Chapter and Board Meetings scheduled the way that they are scheduled?

The chapter intentionally schedules its board and chapter meetings within the same week to concentrate 90% of chapter business into one focused timeframe. This approach enhances efficiency while minimizing the overall time commitment for members.

How does the Chapter promote work-life balance?

To support personal well-being and self-care, the chapter encourages committees to meet the weekend prior to the scheduled meeting week. This structure enables members to prioritize family time and rest during the remaining three weeks of the month.

What is the time commitment for active membership?

Members are expected to attend monthly chapter meetings (approximately 2 hours each), participate in at least one committee, and support chapter events. The typical time commitment is 6-10 hours per month, though leadership positions require additional time.

Can I join if I live outside the West Valley?

While our primary focus is serving the West Valley communities, we welcome brothers who live in other parts of the Phoenix metropolitan area if they can regularly participate in chapter activities.

Is there a life membership option for the chapter?

The chapter does not offer life membership, but the Grand Chapter does. Chapter dues must still be paid annually, but Grand Chapter dues can be eliminated through life membership.

Participation Questions

What committees does the chapter have?

Our chapter has several committees, including Guide Right, Social Action, Reclamation, Membership, Social, Fundraising, and Technology. Members are encouraged to join at least one committee based on their interests and skills.

How can I get involved if I have limited availability?

We understand that members have various personal and professional commitments. We offer flexible participation options and can work with you to find meaningful ways to contribute that align with your availability.

What is the attendance policy for meetings?

Members are expected to attend at least 7 of the 12 monthly meetings per year. If you cannot attend a meeting, please notify the Keeper of Records in advance.

Can my family participate in chapter events?

Many chapter events are open to family participation, including community service projects, social gatherings, and certain fundraising events. Some events, however, are restricted to members only.
